At Throwback Dating we curate events so that you meet guests who are the most compatible for you, based on your responses to our Compatibility Questionnaire.

We believe that finding the right person is not an algorithm - it's an energetic connection you feel. When we match you at our event we use your information and our intuition to connect you with the right people.

Ultimately, you determine who is the best match for you when you engage in our fun, social events and have authentic conversations with other guests. When there's a real connection, you will feel it.

If you've been on the dating scene for a while, you know that it's a serious time and financial commitment, with no guarantees. You spend hours on the app to find a connection, text, talk, and finally go out... only to realize that it's not a match.

When you come to a Throwback Dating event we can guarantee you are going to meet amazing people that you find connection with, and have a great time. We do all the vetting and planning so you can show up, have fun, and be yourself.

We offer several unique ways for you to connect with other high quality members. Events take place 3 to 4 times a month in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs so you can select the ones that work best for you.

Our experiences include...

Family Meals - Small group gatherings designed for members who like a more intimate and intellectual experience when meeting new people.  6 members gather for lunch or dinner and connect over a predetermined topic of discussion.  

Mix Tapes - Each month we host fun, throwback-themed mixer where members can come to meet new members, reunite with other members, and enjoy their favorite music from the 80’s and 90’s.

Epic Experiences - Each month we host a premier event that includes a fun activity like TopGolf, pickle ball, or a pasta making class.  The evening begins with time for members to get acquainted.  When the activity begins members are appointed to a group (2 men and 2 women) based on compatibility.  Throughout the evening, members will switch groups a few times to meet more people.  Prior to the event ending, guests will have a chance to write down names of 3 people they would like to see again.  Following the event we make those connections for our members.  Get ready for a little matchmaking, a little magic, and a lot of fun! 

Field Trips - Gatherings that are designed to get members out of their comfort zone and into nature.  These experiences vary from outdoor walks, to bonfires on the beach, to hikes in local forest preserves. (launching in 2025)

Please note: All Throwback Dating events are priced and purchased individually through our event site. In some cases events will be free. You must be a member to attend.

Our events are a place where you can escape... get lost in a great conversation, enjoy some laughs and be authentically you.  Get ready for a little matchmaking, a little magic, and a lot of fun!

Right now the typical age range is 45 to 60 (Gen X), but we have some just above and below that range.

In the future we will be launching events specific to age ranges like 40 to 55 and 55 to 70.

Don't let age stop you from applying or attending an event though. Our community is smart, authentic and fun... you will meet amazing people who make you feel like you're in the right place.

Absolutely. Our goal is to ensure you feel comfortable at our event experiences.

Once you join you will complete a Compatibility Questionnaire. One of the questions relates to your dietary choices.

We’d love to meet your single friend! Send your friend our website so he/she can apply. Once they complete our questionnaire and the Chemistry Call with Megan, they can register for the event and join you.
