Meet Megan

Hi! I’m Megan Wessels. I created Throwback Dating because I believe singles over 50 don't need a better app. They need a better room.

WHY I STARTED throwback dating:

With years of experience building communities and hosting meaningful gatherings, I had a conversation with a dating coach in 2023 that sparked something big. I realized there was a huge gap in how singles over 50 were being served… and no one was filling it. So, I started digging in, and sure enough, there was a clear need for something different.

In 2024, life threw me a curveball. I broke both of my wrists in a freak accident and had to move back in with my parents for two months to recover. During that time, I received a clear message from Source: This is the work I’m meant to do, and now is the time.

That was the turning point. I began developing my business plan and secured a seed investment to bring this vision to life… a space for GenXers like me who are over the apps and craving real connection.

Since launching in October 2024, I’ve had conversations with 700 singles over 50. Every story, every insight confirms how important this work is and helps shape the community we’re building together.

Throwback Dating is evolving into the very first singles social club for people over 50. Our growth has been 100% organic, because amazing people like you are showing up, spreading the word, and creating something truly special.
